Acting for Camera: The Art of the Close Up

curriculum

Studio Cinema immerses actors in the art and technique of screen acting. Understanding, activating and living your character's inner life and creating visually truthful performances are at the heart of successful screen performances. Transform your process for the technical demands of film and television by acting in scenes that are shot and edited for performance. Over 6 sessions in 6 weeks of three hour classes, we will cover screenplay analysis, acting process, rehearsing and technical aspects of acting on camera.

Classes are restricted to 10-12 students per workshop.

Actors will be assigned scene partners and monologue work for the duration of of the workshop.

Actors will be provided copies of their screen scenes at the end of the class session.

2019 acting for camera: THE art of the CLOSE UP

      May 13 - June 24 2019 (six weeks)

Monday evenings, 6:30-9:30PM (No class Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day)

$365 per actor. Discounts for students are available.

Place: TPS located in The Armory, Seattle Center.

caveats

All actors participating in workshops must be 18 years or older.

Absences, drops and no-shows are non-refundable. Actors can withdraw from the workshop and receive a full refund up to the date of the second class meeting in week one.

Because Studio classes are designed for actors who have a basic grounding in acting technique and process, enrollment is by pre-approval. Submit your headshot and resume and we will contact you.
